A police inspector was killed and at least 13 people were injured after an amusement ride collapsed at the Surajkund Fair in Faridabad, Haryana.

The incident occurred on Saturday evening when a large swing ride malfunctioned and broke mid-air while carrying several riders. The structure collapsed suddenly, throwing people from their seats and causing panic at the fairground.

Emergency services were immediately dispatched to the scene, and the injured were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment. Some of the victims sustained serious injuries.

Authorities confirmed the deceased was an on-duty police inspector assigned to the event. An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the collapse, including whether safety regulations and inspection protocols were followed.
