A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a motorcycle on PE-17, known as Estrada da Muribeca, in the Engenho Velho neighborhood of Jaboatão dos Guararapes, in the Greater Recife area. The accident occurred on Thursday (5) and was captured by security cameras. The footage is graphic.

Emergency medical services were dispatched at 8:17 a.m. and provided assistance to the motorcycle rider. The pedestrian died at the scene before medical teams arrived. The Fire Department also sent a unit to the location.

Security camera footage shows the moment the man attempted to cross the roadway and was hit near the sidewalk. The force of the collision threw both the pedestrian and the motorcyclist to the ground, while parts of the motorcycle were scattered across the road.
