Parliamentary Advisor Shot Dead in Bar While Playing Pool

A 35-year-old parliamentary advisor, Diego Nascimento Silva, was shot and killed late Wednesday night, January 29, in a bar in Eunápolis, in the state of Bahia, Brazil. The crime occurred at around 10 p.m. at a local bar in the Alecrim II neighborhood, where the victim was playing pool with friends.

According to police information, multiple shots were fired, striking Diego in the head, back, and arms. He died at the scene before medical assistance could be provided.

Witnesses and security camera footage circulating on social media show two men arriving in a silver-colored vehicle. One of the suspects got out of the car, approached the victim, and opened fire before fleeing the scene with an accomplice.

Civil Police are investigating the case and are working to identify and locate the suspects. The motive for the killing has not yet been confirmed. The case has been registered as qualified homicide, as the victim had no chance to defend himself.
