A young man identified as Lucas, described by residents as being autistic, was shot and killed on Sunday night (4) in the Jardim Miraí neighborhood of Santa Isabel do Pará, in the metropolitan region of Belém.

According to security camera footage obtained by the report, the incident occurred at around 8 p.m. Lucas was walking along a street when a dark-colored vehicle approached and stopped beside him. A gunman inside the car fired a shot, striking the victim in the head and causing instant death.

Preliminary information from local residents indicates that Lucas was well known in the community. There is speculation that he may have been mistaken for another individual and targeted by members of a militia group.

The case is under investigation by authorities.
