Audiovisual material circulating on social media shows the moment two individuals were wounded by gunshots to their hands in an alleged act of vigilante justice in Puerto Ordaz, Bolívar state.

The Investigation and Information Network reported receiving at least three videos showing the individuals while they were subjected to this so-called punishment, after being accused of stealing from a church and several homes in the area.

The incident occurred in the Las Amazonas neighborhood, El Hueco sector, sparking concern among residents and strong condemnation of the violence used.

According to initial information, the individuals were recorded as they were shot, in circumstances that point to illegal acts of justice carried out outside any legal authority.

So far, there is no official information confirming whether security forces have launched an investigation to determine responsibility and clarify the facts.
