A suspected neighbourhood thief suffered a severe electric shock and fell from a high utility pole in Juárez, Nuevo León, while attempting to evade municipal police officers.
The incident took place in the Villas de San José area, where residents had reported a man moving suspiciously across rooftops. Upon noticing the arrival of police, the individual climbed a power pole and attempted to grab components of the electrical system. He made contact with high-voltage wiring and was electrocuted.
Following the shock, the man fell directly onto a police patrol vehicle, damaging its windshield and hood. Emergency medical personnel arrived at the scene and transported the injured man to the General Hospital of Juárez.
Medical staff later reported that the man, identified as 21-year-old Erick Ramírez, sustained second- and third-degree burns over a significant portion of his body and was in a serious condition. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances and the events that led up to the accident.
