A tragic accident in Rampur resulted in the death of a seven-year-old girl after a school bus ran over two sisters as they were crossing the road. The incident took place in Mohalla Bhatti Tola under the jurisdiction of Bilaspur police station.

The girls, identified as Anabiya, aged seven, and her four-year-old sister Jannat, had just stepped off the school bus and were crossing the road hand in hand when the vehicle turned unexpectedly and struck them. CCTV footage captured the moment the bus moved forward without the driver checking the front, causing both children to fall under the vehicle. The rear wheel reportedly passed over Anabiya’s head, fatally injuring her. Jannat, who fell under the middle portion of the bus, sustained minor injuries.

The sisters were the daughters of Mohammad Arif, a sack merchant residing in Noor City Colony. Both attended Milton Educational Academy, where Anabiya was a Class 1 student and Jannat was enrolled in LKG.

The accident occurred only a few steps from their home. Nearby residents rushed to assist and transported the children to a private hospital. Due to the severity of her injuries, Anabiya was referred to medical facilities in Rudrapur, Uttarakhand, and later Bareilly; however, she died en route.

The bus driver fled the scene immediately after the accident. According to family members, they have not filed a complaint and do not wish for legal action at this time. The children’s grandfather, deeply distressed, expressed overwhelming grief at the loss.

Police officials stated that legal proceedings will begin once a formal complaint is registered.
