A woman’s attempt to intervene in a robbery resulted in a tragic death in the Montefresco neighborhood of San Pedro Sula, Honduras.

According to preliminary reports, a woman driving through the area witnessed a suspected thief robbing another woman on the street. In an effort to stop the assailant, she used her vehicle to block his escape.

However, the maneuver went wrong. Instead of stopping the suspect, the driver accidentally struck the robbery victim. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but the injured woman did not survive.

The suspected thief fled amid the chaos.

Authorities are investigating the incident to determine responsibility and gather statements from witnesses.
