A 26-year-old man named Vinícius dos Santos Silva was shot dead on Tuesday morning in Casas Populares in the town of Jupi in the Agreste region of Pernambuco.

Another man, aged 50, was nearby when the attack occurred and was hit by at least six bullets. He was initially treated on site and then transferred to the Regional Hospital of the Agreste, where he remains under medical care.

Security-camera footage shows two hooded men exiting a white car, approaching the victims on foot and firing more than 30 shots before fleeing at high speed.

The case has been registered as murder and attempted murder, and an inquiry has been opened by the local civil police department in Jupi. No suspects have yet been arrested and the motive remains under investigation.
