A worker, aged 49 and residing in Fernando de la Mora (Central), is in critical condition after falling from a ladder while working on fiber-optic cable installation in the city of Pilar. The accident occurred on Sunday at the intersection of Gaspar Rodríguez de Francia Avenue and Carlos Miguel Giménez in the Paso neighbourhood.

According to police reports, the worker leaned his ladder against a utility pole to access the cable lines and may have experienced an electric shock, which caused him to fall from height and sustain serious head injuries. He was initially taken to the Pilar Regional Hospital before being transferred to the Trauma Hospital in Asunción, where he remains in a critical state.

The prosecutor, Federico Solano, visited the scene and seized the ladder, safety equipment and other materials to clarify the circumstances of the incident.
