On Thursday night, October 30, 2025, in the Novo Aleixo neighborhood of the northern zone of Manaus, a fatal traffic accident claimed the life of a 21-year-old motorcyclist, Marcos Paulo Freitas de Souza.

According to reports, the young man was riding a Yamaha motorcycle when he lost control at the intersection of Madalena and Taquarana streets and crashed into the wall of a school building around 11 p.m. The collision was so severe that he was thrown from his bike.

Emergency medical teams were alerted, but the rider did not survive and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have launched an investigation, reviewing security camera footage and collecting witness statements to determine the exact circumstances and cause of the crash.

Residents said the intersection where the crash occurred is poorly lit and lacks proper signage, which may have contributed to the accident.
